Special Education, Specialist
The Special Education, Specialist course consists of the development of leadership and consultation skills at both the school level and board level. The course emphasizes critical evaluation of research literature and current developments in special education as well as focusing upon the growth of broad professional and administrative skills. The course will include practical activities involving the preparation, delivery and evaluation of a workshop for teachers, other professionals and parents in a particular area of special education.
Note: Learners who have previous credit in Education 4512 may not take Education 4585 for credit.
Specialist requires successful completion of Part II and two (2) years of successful teaching experience, with one (1) of the school years teaching the subject, verified by the signature of the appropriate supervisory officer.

Registration for each semester opens six to eight weeks prior to the registration deadline.
