Additional Qualification (AQ) courses allow certified teachers to expand their knowledge and skills in qualified divisions and subjects or to develop new knowledge in a specific area. Our AQ courses provide you with different qualification options depending on your teaching experience and past professional development. Special Education, Part I provides an overview of the characteristics and needs of exceptional children and adolescents, as well as an introduction to special education legislation and service-delivery in Ontario. Methods of identifying and assisting exceptional students are surveyed. The course will include practical activities for the identification, programming and reporting of exceptional students.

The Certificate in Environmental Sustainability is open for admission to professionals who wish to pursue continuing professional education in environmental sustainability. Interested applicants may already have earned a four-year Honours Bachelors and/or a four-year or a three-year Bachelors undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as urban and regional planning, geography, interdisciplinary studies, biology, ecology and natural resource/environmental management, tourism etc. from a recognized post-secondary institution.
