The Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre (NOIC) and Procept Associates partner with Lakehead University to offer Project Management Certificate Program
Thunder Bay, Ontario – Tuesday, January 28, 2025 – The Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre (NOIC) and Procept Associates Ltd., a registered PMI ATP, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Lakehead University’s Community Zone to launch this year’s Project Management Certificate Program. Aligned with industry best practices, this program equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in today's project-driven world.
The Project Management Certificate Program offers flexible, comprehensive training for professionals at all stages of their project management careers. Participants can opt for individual courses or complete the full 10-day program to earn a Certificate of Completion from Lakehead University. Mandatory courses include Project Management Essentials, Project Communications and Stakeholder Management and Project Risk Management. Learners then select from a variety of electives covering topics such as project scheduling, cost management, agile project management, and procurement and contract management to customize their learning experience. Courses are accredited by the Project Management Institute, the Project Management Association of Canada, and some by the Canadian Construction Association for their Gold Seal certification program, and other industry and professional associations. Courses are delivered virtually through engaging, instructor-led half-day sessions, offering maximum convenience and interactivity.
"This partnership with NOIC continues Lakehead's commitment to providing accessible and flexible professional development opportunities to meet the needs of learners," stated Dr. Michel S. Beaulieu, Lakehead University's Associate Vice-Provost (Academic). "Project management training is vital for bridging regional skill development gaps, empowering local professionals to lead successful initiatives, and underscoring the urgent need for targeted programming to foster economic growth and workforce excellence."
“We are pleased to collaborate with both Lakehead and Procept to deliver this program and expand the professional development offerings available to residents in our region,” stated Jeremy Dutton, Business Advisor, ICT at the Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre.
