The Dialectical Behavioural Therapy: Calming the Emotional Storm Training Event is a comprehensive 12-hour event that requires full attendance for Lakehead students and Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) community members to earn a Certificate of Participation. This training event includes presentation resources and allows Lakehead Social Work students to apply the training hours toward field practicum hours. Learners also have the option to purchase The DBT Workbook for Emotional Relief by Sheri Van Dijk at a discounted rate.

The Encounters in Bioethics Program is an essential part of the Centre for Health Care Ethics’ mission to foster high-quality, ethical health care through research, education, and capacity building.
The Fitness Test for Ontario Correctional Officer Applicants (FITCO) is an occupational test to assess a person's ability to perform the physical demands of correctional officer work. This is a standardized test developed through the Ministry of the Solicitor General (SOLGEN). Lakehead University's School of Kinesiology offers a testing site with certified administrators and appraisers.
