The French as a Second Language, Part II course provides a comprehensive and detailed study of methods used for the teaching of French in Ontario. The theory of applied linguistics upon which audio-lingual methods are based will be introduced. Special topics related to the study of French within the Ontario school curricula; alternative French programs; immersion courses; extended programs; bilingual programs; motivation; evaluation; group work. The practical activities form an integral part of this course.
Part II requires successful completion of Part I and one (1) school year worth of successful teaching experience verified by the signature of the appropriate supervisory officer.

Registration for each semester opens six to eight weeks prior to the registration deadline.

Summer 2025: July 7th - August 15th
Learners will be required to do the Admissibility Test (oral and written) and receive 75% or better before they are allowed to register for the course.
