Construction Technology, Grades 9/10

Description

The Construction Technology course for grades 9 and 10 is designed to introduce candidates to the field’s foundational concepts and practical skills. Through a hybrid, activity-based course design, students will learn woodworking techniques and the safe operation of tools and machinery in a Construction Technology shop setting. The course emphasizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and safety, and integrates literacy and numeracy. Students will also explore careers in construction, enhancing their understanding of the industry's opportunities. This program aims to cultivate an appreciation for construction technology, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and a commitment to sustainability and safety.
