Arts & Heritage

Arts and Heritage play an important role in the vitality of our communities.

Lakehead University's courses and programs are designed to foster, nurture, and enhance individual interest and provide skill-building opportunities in the arts, culture, and heritage sectors.

Building on Humanities 101, Humanities 201 allows for graduates of Humanities 101 to continue their lifelong learning journey and remain connected to a supportive community as alumni of a Lakehead University ancillary program. Programming involves two events per semester. In the recent past, we have had events addressing food security, health, and Indigenous cultures.

The Indigenous Transition Year Program (ITYP) is intended for learners of Indigenous ancestry who have not met the regular or mature university entry requirements or who require academic preparation to become eligible for admission to a Lakehead University program.
